My friend, Pat, and I went to the Cocheco Quilters Guild Show in New Hampshire this past Saturday.  And it was GREAT!  This is their 31st annual show.......what a great guild!  If they weren't an 80 mile, 2 hour drive, I'd join this guild!  Oh well......I can at least enjoy their yearly show!

I took a ton of pics again......so I'll show them in a few posts over the next few days.

Enjoy!

This was the Best of Show quilt!  Absolutely gorgeous!  "Feathers, Flowers and Leaves" by Gladi Porsche. It's based on a antique quilt from the Fons and Porter book 'Quilts from the Henry Ford', with numerous design changes including designing her own borders.  It took several years to complete.

Difficult to see in the pic, but she has outline embroidery around most of the applique.....truly striking when looking at it up close.

"Oriental Medition #6: Evolution" by Gladi Porsche.

"Star Struck" by Penny St. Cyr.

 "Fan Dance" by Jeanie Stanley.

 "Starry Night" by Jeanie Stanley.

"Bold Golden Asian Maze" by Nancy Starks-Cheney.

 "Oriental Lanterns" by Diane Stump.

 "Untitled" by Kathryn Theall.

"Retreat Signature Quilt" by Jacque Thompson.  All the members attending the first retreat for this group made a block and Jacque assembled the quilt.

The next 6 quilts were used as backdrops for areas in the show.  Most have been shown at previous shows.
"Sunshine & Shadow" submitted by Viki Champagne.  Purchased on her first quilt trip to Lancaster, PA.

 "American Virtues" by Wendy Coffin.

 "Sea Urchin" by Patricia Craig.

"Shoebox Collection" by Lorraine F. Hall.

"Spinning Towards Prosperity" by Lorraine F. Hall.  Done in the 30's prints.....it was lovely.

"9-Patch Medley" by Fran Holly.  I just can't get enough of 9 patches!  Love it!

"Razzle Dazzle Dance" made by Quinnie Jones.  Quilted by Sue Foster.  Quinnie says, "I love bright colors and picked these out at last year's quilt show.  I'm 12 years old.  I love quilting!"  .......How sweet is that!?!

"Wholecloth Applique" by Carol Ballou.  19"x19"  A project appearing in Quilter's Newsletter, the applique in the center is not made by using two contrasting fabrics but using a single fabric and a black sharpie marker.  The design was drawn on the green fabric, marker was used to color the background black and the block was quilted by stitching along the edges of the design.

"Battle of Gettysbury" by Patience Dixon.  Sorry about the blur.

"Ring of Flowers" by Barbara Robbins

 "Rusty" by Laura Stadig.

 "Spring Melt" by Patricia Craig.

"Autumn Friendship" by Jacque Thompson.  Blocks were appliqued and embroidered by the guild members and the quilt given to Jacque as a thank you for her time given to guild projects.

 "Folk Art" by Patience Dixon.

"Civil War Presidents" by Louise Ford.

I'll have more pics of this show in the next few days, as well as some pics of my 'acquisitions'!  :o)
